The editorial board members at WestLand bear the responsibility of transforming received manuscripts from authors across diverse subject areas into exemplary publications. Roles and Responsibilities as follows

  1. Active Contribution to Journal Development:
    • Editorial Board (EB) members are expected to actively contribute to the development and management of the journal.
    • Foster a positive working relationship among EB members, emphasizing collaboration and shared goals.
  2. Ensuring Rigorous Peer-Review:
    • EB members have a responsibility to ensure a rigorous peer-review process, led by distinguished reviewers.
    • Strictly maintain confidentiality throughout the peer-review process to uphold the integrity of the evaluation.
  3. Protection of Data and Confidentiality:
    • Uphold the highest standards in protecting individual data and maintaining confidentiality.
    • EB members are also entrusted with ensuring the overall integrity of the published work.
  4. Flexible Manuscript Reviews:
    • Manuscript reviews by EB members should be conducted at their convenience.
    • In cases of time constraints, EB members are encouraged to suggest alternative reviewers, promoting a smooth and efficient review process.
  5. Strategic Reviewer Assignment:
    • Manuscripts may be assigned to two or three key reviewers in the relevant research field.
    • The selection of reviewers is at the discretion of the journal editor, ensuring a strategic and comprehensive review process.
  6. Final Decision Authority:
    • The final decision on manuscript acceptance, modification, or rejection rests solely with the editorial team.
    • The editorial team must conduct a thorough assessment, considering content quality, writing style, grammar, spelling, data presentation, and overall organization.
  7. Submission of Manuscripts by EB Members:
    • All EB members are invited to submit their valuable manuscripts at their convenience, fostering a culture of shared scholarly contributions.
  8. Constructive Feedback Monitoring:
    • EB members should actively monitor reviews to provide clear suggestions and honest corrections.
    • Foster a culture of constructive feedback, discouraging unfair language or offensive criticism.
  9. Encouraging Quality Article Submissions:
    • Encourage the submission of quality articles by writing editorials on the journal's performance.

  10. Plagiarism Detection and Rejection Authority:
    • EB members must ensure that submitted manuscripts are neither plagiarized nor previously published elsewhere.
    • In cases of plagiarism, EB members have the authority to reject the article outright, maintaining the journal's academic integrity.
  11. Supervision and Ethical Concerns:
    • Supervise and support the publisher in handling complaints and appeals.
    • Address ethical concerns related to the publication of duplicate or fraudulent work, ensuring the journal's adherence to ethical standards.
  12. Categorization Based on Contribution:
    • EB members are categorized based on their experience and contributions to the journal.
    • Recognize and acknowledge the diverse expertise and valuable contributions of EB members in the development and success of the journal.
